Born November 1839 (Birth Registered December Quarter, Stoke Damerel, Devonport, Devon

Her parents were Thomas Shapcote and Harriet Leaver.

15 November 1839, Friday


On Thursday last, in George-street, Plymouth, Mrs. Shapcote, wife of Lieut. Shapcote, R.N., of a daughter.




Julia did not marry but lived with her mother until Harriet died in 1882.


The 1891 Census shows that she had become a nun, a Sister of Mercy.(Nurse)at St Mary’s Home,  Wantage, Berkshire.

The 1901 Census shows Julia  as a Sister of Mercy, St James Home, Fulham Palace Road, Fulham, London
